It’s important to review your insurance each year to make sure you have the right level of cover and that you’re getting the best value. Insurance isn’t “set and forget” – it should change with your lifestyle. Your broker can help you work out whether your cover still fits your needs, so you’re not left under or over-insured.
Not all insurance policies are created equal. Our personal insurance policies are designed to give you flexible, comprehensive cover with features that really count at claims time.
Talk to your broker about the cover option that’s right for you – they’re experts at saving you time, finding the best value for your needs, and supporting you when you need to make a claim.

What you can do to make sure you have the right level of cover
House
Many New Zealanders’ homes are unintentionally underinsured so it’s important to check your sum insured and square metres each year, or when making improvements and renovations to your home, to ensure it’s still appropriate. You can update your sum insured at any time, and our Guide to calculating square metres (SQM) and sum insured brochure will help explain how to get the right amount of cover for your home.
Car
Review your agreed value annually – this is the amount we’ve agreed to insure your vehicle for, as shown on your policy schedule.
Contents
It’s good to check your sum insured every year or when you’ve bought more or downsized. Most of your contents will be covered without you having to specify them, but you should arrange additional cover for your big-ticket items like jewellery, bikes and art.
